What is Ablaze!?

Ablaze!is a mission movement to involve every member of the LCMS, its partner church bodies, and partner mission agencies in one unified and concentrated effort to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with 100 million people by Reformation Day 2017. Ablaze! is also about revitalizing congegations and planting new

congregations.

What is Fan Into Flame?

Fan into Flame is an initiative to gather financial support forthe Ablaze! movement, touching all districts and congregations. It is a goal to help Lutherans make a quantum leap in their ability to minister to those who are connected through faith in Jesus. Funds will enable innovative projects and projects in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

Distribution of Funds

Fan into Flame is different in another important way: Both congregations and districts will share in the money raised. The fund distribution follows the outreach model of Acts 1:8. Congregations (“Jerusalem”) will receive 15 percent of what is gathered, districts (“Judea”) will receive 15 percent, LCMS National Missions (“Samaria”) will receive 20 percent, and LCMS World Mission (“Ends of the earth”) 50 percent. Gifts collected are not being held in a fund, but are being distributed for mission outreach each quarter.
