Why Consider A Youth Mission Trip Experience?
Through short-term mission trips to locations around the United States, mission trips provide opportunities for youth and adults to support specific missions with their financial gifts and volunteer hands-on labor. As a result of these experiences, the lives of youth and adults are changed significantly and a greater passion for missions is ignited.
Some of the benefits for your congregation and your youth are:
· Joining forces with a number of other Christians in sponsoring a major mission endeavor for Christ that could not be accomplished alone or by one congregation.
· Involving people in meaningful ministry as they make a difference for Christ locally.
· Building self-confidence and spiritual maturity. Training people for mission-minded leadership.
· Serving as an opportunity to explore possible full-time service in the church as parish professionals or missionaries.
The Southern District Youth Committee has coordinated an opportunity for your congregation's youth to participate in a special youth mission trip experience on June 24-30, 2012. We are working in coordination with CAN-DO Missions of Texas for this summer's project. Priority registration for groups from the Southern District is open through February 15, 2012. After this date, groups will be accepted on a space available basis. The following link provides the details about this summer's mission trip experience:
